It’s mid August in Ibiza, temperatures are rising high and the party season is in full swing by now. So let’s not waste any time and dive into the party agenda for the next month, starting from 16/08! (Words by Pedro Mercado)
Let’s start with our favourite club, officially the best club in the world: Space Ibiza in Playa D’en Bossa (oh what do we not love about la Terrazza, what an amazing room!). Like every year there are some big changes in the Ibiza club parties, so also at Space. Of course the underground powerhouses “Music Is Revolution” by Carl Cox and “Enter” by Richie Hawtin remain at their seats on Tuesdays & Thursdays respectively.
Newcomer and revelation of last year “Elrow” is here too stay on Saturday, again in combination with the in-house underground concept “Kehakuma”. Biggest change is off course the departure of “We Love” on Sundays (they moved to Sankeys on Wednesdays!), but no worries they got replaced by the “Vagabundos” of Luciano & Friends! On Fridays Defected finally comes to Space Ibiza on the Terrazza with their concept “Glitterbox”. This makes the trance party “Full On” move to Mondays now, replacing “Café Olé” which has left Ibiza, what we personally regret a lot to be honest. Finally on Wednesdays Space launches a new in-house concept called “Raw Change”.
Monday: Full On
Tuesday: Carl Cox Revolution
Wednesday: Raw Change
Saturday: Kehakuma + El Row
Our picks are concentrated on Thursdays where Richie Hawtin programmed again some amazing line-ups:
Thursday 20/08: ENTER with Dixon all night long @ Space Terrazza
Thursday 27/08: ENTER with Sven Vath + Richie Hawtin @ Space Discoteca
Thursday 03/09: ENTER with Solomun all night long @ Space Terraza
Thursday 10/09: ENTER with Maceo Plex B2B Richie Hawtin @ Space Sunset Terrace (10 PM – midnight!)

The other Ibiza superclub, besides Space, is Amnesia in San Rafael, where, in my opinioin, on the Terrace you can enjoy one of the best soundsystems in the world. Of course also here the underground powerhouses of “Cocoon” by Sven Vath and “Music On” by Marco Carola remain at their seats on Mondays and Fridays respectively. And they get company by a new underground party: “Hyte” on Wednesdays (bringing Loco Dice back to Ibiza in combination with Maceo Plex!), which makes “La Troya” move to Sundays. On Thursday Ibiza’s biggest trance night “Cream” is off course a fixed value, just like bass music night “Together” on Tuesdays with the latter being joined this summer by “Defected In The House” on the Terrace (due do the fact they had to move from Booom! because this club is closed nowr). Also on Saturdays no change: “Matinée” in combination with the Foam party hosted by the one and only Paris Hilton, if you like it or not ;-). On Sundays it’s time for the only real EDM-night in Amnesia: “House Of Madness” hosted by the belgian Tomorrowland-brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.
Tuesday: Together + Defected In The House
Friday: Music On
Saturday: Matinée + Foam & Diamonds
Sunday: House Of Madness + La Troya
After all those years, pioneering Cocoon never disappoints, that’s why our picks are situated on Mondays:
Monday 24/08: Cocoon with Sven Vath & Richie Hawtin @ Amnesia Terrace
Monday 07/09: Cocoon with Sven Vath all night long @ Amnesia Terrace
Third Ibiza superclub is Pacha in Ibiza Town, not in size but in fame all over the world. After the big changes of last summer, Pacha did more or less a copy/paste this summer which means more commercial & EDM music (Steve Aoki‘s “Playhouse” on Mondays, “Flower Power “ on Tuesdays, “My House” by Martin Solveig on Wednesdays, “F*** Me I’m Famous” by David Guetta on Thursdays and “Pure Pacha” by Bob Sinclar on Saturdays). Luckily there is quality music enough on Fridays with “Insane” and Sundays with “Solomun + 1”.
Monday: Aoki’s Playhouse
Tuesday: Flower Power
Wednesday: My House
Thursday: F*** Me I’m Famous!
Saturday: Pure Pacha
Sunday: Solomun + 1

Fourth Ibiza superclub is Privilege: the biggest one, definitely in size but unfortunately not in line-ups. The only party that can really full up this huge club is the commercial SuperMartXé party on Fridays with has some greats show on their enormous stage to attract the big crowds.
Last but not least we have DC10 on the road to Salinas Beach, and Sankeys in Playa D’en Bossa: smaller than the other ones but definitely more underground! DC10 has become famous for their Circoloco party on Mondays but the last years also the Wednesday party has become extremely popular: “Paradise” hosted by Jamie Jones following the success of his label “Hot Creations”. Sankeys plays the UK-card this summer more than ever. Most notable change off course this summer was the arrival of the famous “We Love” to Sankeys (coming from Space on Sundays). Other important concepts moving to Sankeys this summer are Coyu and his “Suara” Cats (coming from Booom!) and “Reverse” (coming from Privilege). On Sundays “VIVa Warriors” by Steve Lawler remains one of their biggest draws.
The biggest beach club in Ibiza: Ushuaïa in Playa d’en Bossa has become a real EDM-institute, if you like it or not: on Mondays David Guetta, on Tuesdays Hardwell, on Wednesdays Axwell & Ingrosso, on Thursdays Armin van Buuren, on Fridays Martin Garrix and on Sundays Aviici. Be aware: most of these EDM-parties stop at the end of August / beginning of September! That leaves only one afternoon open for underground music which is on Saturdays where all the Ants of Ibiza wander to Ushuaïa. But in September when Axwell & Ingrosso have left Ibiza, their party is replaced by “La Familia” hosted by Joris Voorn & Nic Fanciulli, if you ask us the best quality party in Ushuaïa!
